Lone Star Governance - Regional Workshop

Is your board ready to engage in a continuous improvement framework specifically designed to improve student outcomes? Then this session is for you and the rest of your board! Lone Star Governance is a continuous-improvement framework based on leading research that has allowed corporate and non-profit boards to focus on results for decades. Adapted for governing teams (boards and their superintendents) in Texas public school districts, this work has proven effective at helping boards become intensely focused on only one primary objective: improving student outcomes. This workshop is open to full teams of eight, quorums of a board, superintendent and board chair, or individual superintendents and trustees from any public school district or charter district located in the state of Texas that is in need of Lone Star Governance training. Board and Trustees will earn credit to satisfy these training requirements: Individual Trustees who attend will receive: • Evaluating and Improving Student Outcomes (3 hours) • Framework Hours (10 hours) Full Boards who attend will receive: • LSG Certificate • Team of Eight (3 hours) • Team Commendation Each workshop lasts 16 hours over two consecutive days from 9 am - 5 pm CST on Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10. Registration includes workshop materials, lunch, and refreshments during both days of the workshop. Participants are expected to be fully present from the beginning through the end of the workshop in order to receive credit for their participation. Registration Options: $400 Participant: >Full Board* -Registration option for individual participants attending without their full board present including new superintendents, or new board members $300 Participant: Full Board+* -Registration option for individual participants attending with their entire governing team (board and superintendent) and up to 2 additional staff members. (minimum cost is $3,000 with up to 10 participants) $400 Observer*- Unless otherwise specified, observer registrations are limited to individuals who are aspiring LSG coaches who need to meet their observation requirements for certification. *Registration eligibility will be confirmed prior to invoicing.
